    Open Source Certification and Educational Process

    This paper discusses possibilities to benefit software engineering and computer sciences educational process from involving students in open source software certification activities. On the other hand the open source certification community can take advantages of this involvement if it cooperates with educational one. The situation is considered in the context of Russian higher institutes of education but the conclusions can be applicable to other institutes as well

It describes specifics of the corresponding industrial settings and discusses technical details of usage of UniTESK model based testing technology in these settings.     Abstract. The article presents an approach to development of software standards usage infrastructure. The approach is based on formalization of standards and automated conformance test derivation from the resulting formal specifications. Strong technological support of such a process in its engineering aspects makes it applicable to software standards of reallife complexity. This is illustrated by its application to Linux Standard Base. The work stands in line with goals of international initiative Grand Challenge 6: Dependable Systems Evolution [1].

    Hall Effect Anisotropy in the Paramagnetic Phase of Ho<sub>0.8</sub>Lu<sub>0.2</sub>B<sub>12</sub> Induced by Dynamic Charge Stripes

    A detailed study of charge transport in the paramagnetic phase of the cage-cluster dodecaboride Ho0.8Lu0.2B12 with an instability both of the fcc lattice (cooperative Jahn–Teller effect) and the electronic structure (dynamic charge stripes) was carried out at temperatures 1.9–300 K in magnetic fields up to 80 kOe. Four mono-domain single crystals of Ho0.8Lu0.2B12 samples with different crystal axis orientation were investigated in order to establish the singularities of Hall effect, which develop due to (i) the electronic phase separation (stripes) and (ii) formation of the disordered cage-glass state below T*~60 K. It was demonstrated that a considerable intrinsic anisotropic positive component ρanxy appears at low temperatures in addition to the ordinary negative Hall resistivity contribution in magnetic fields above 40 kOe applied along the [001] and [110] axes. A relation between anomalous components of the resistivity tensor ρanxy~ρanxx1.7 was found for H||[001] below T*~60 K, and a power law ρanxy~ρanxx0.83 for the orientation H||[110] at temperatures T S~15 K. It is argued that below characteristic temperature TS~15 K the anomalous odd ρanxy(T) and even ρanxx(T) parts of the resistivity tensor may be interpreted in terms of formation of long chains in the filamentary structure of fluctuating charges (stripes). We assume that these ρanxy(H||[001]) and ρanxy(H||[110]) components represent the intrinsic (Berry phase contribution) and extrinsic (skew scattering) mechanism, respectively. Apart from them, an additional ferromagnetic contribution to both isotropic and anisotropic components in the Hall signal was registered and attributed to the effect of magnetic polarization of 5d states (ferromagnetic nano-domains) in the conduction band of Ho0.8Lu0.2B12

    Measurement of jet shapes in top-quark pair events at using the ATLAS detector

    A measurement of jet shapes in top-quark pair events using 1.8 fb −1 of pp collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented. Samples of top-quark pair events are selected in both the single-lepton and dilepton final states. The differential and integrated shapes of the jets initiated by bottom-quarks from the top-quark decays are compared with those of the jets originated by light-quarks from the hadronic W -boson decays in the single-lepton channel. The light-quark jets are found to have a narrower distribution of the momentum flow inside the jet area than b -quark jets

    Measurement of the charge asymmetry in top quark pair production in pp collisions at √s = 7 using the ATLAS detector

    A measurement of the top-antitop production charge asymmetry A is presented using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.04 fb −1 of pp collisions at TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Events are selected with a single lepton (electron or muon), missing transverse momentum and at least four jets of which at least one jet is identified as coming from a b -quark. A kinematic fit is used to reconstruct the event topology. After background subtraction, a Bayesian unfolding procedure is performed to correct for acceptance and detector effects. The measured value of A is , consistent with the prediction from the Monte Carlo generator of A =0.006±0.002. Measurements of A in two ranges of invariant mass of the top-antitop pair are also shown
